Turkey is another country that I could visit frequently, as there are so many things to see. On this first trip, we took Turkish Airlines (a great airline, by the way), to Istanbul, a cool city with a lot of history. The Hagia Sophia didn't disappoint, nor did the fish sandwiches bought fresh at the docks. After a couple days, we flew to Cappadocia, the land of ancient rock houses in central Anatolia. Hiking in Cappadocia is was like walking through another planet, where the white hills and fairy chimneys look like something out of a Star Wars movie. The mountainside is pockmarked with man-made caves and red ink drawings cover the inside walls. This was only the surface of what Turkey has to see, and I can't wait to go back.
