This trip was my second time in Spain, but my first in Andalucia. On the itinerary: Malaga, Granada, Cordoba, Seville, and Madrid. We were a group of four women, high school friends that love tapas and Spain. We've always wanted to visit this region so on a plane we went. Malaga was the port city we flew into- it's always nice to see the ocean. From there, we took trains to each city. In Granada, one of my favorite cities, we saw the Alhambra, an ancient Arab fortress with intricate interiors and carvings. Cordoba is home to the famous striped Mosque-Cathedral and it's where we happened upon a flamenco festival outside of town. The Alcazar and the Plaza de Espana in Seville were some of my favorite buildings too. But even though we saw some amazing sites and ate lots of delicious food, I'll always remember our time in Madrid when we made friends with the purveyors at a seafood bar in the Mercado de San Miguel who kept giving us plates of squid and clams while cracking jokes in Spanish.
